About Us
Puget Sound Yacht Club began in 1954 on the Northern Shore of Lake Union as an outboard motor boat club. The club has a long tradition along with being known as a "Family" yacht club geared towards comradery through fun and engaging social events, boater education and outreach towards many of the area's yacht club and boating clubs/organization
Today PSYC is a very active cruising and social club that is committed to providing memorable boating activities and events with a focus on courtesy, safety, good seamanship, and the betterment of boating in general.
The clubhouse is on the shores of Lake Union with views of downtown Seattle and the Space Needle. We have a peaceful outstation on beautiful Hat Island with golfing privileges. Our social calendar includes wine tasting, dock parties, BBQ's, boating lessons, Bingo night and more. Cruising destinations vary but there are usually about a dozen per year with great destinations up and down Puget Sound.
Extra History Note! Puget Sound Yacht Club was founded as a scrappy outboard motor boat and cruising club? From early on, we’ve made waves and the news through organized small boat trips to Alaska, building and donating a boat ramp to the city, and making the cover of Sea Magazine. Puget Sound Yacht Club was the first to decorate both sides of our boats for the Opening Day Parade, something that was unheard of at the time and caused quite a stir!
